November 19, 2021 (OTTAWA)—At the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples’ 50th Annual General Assembly, Chief & President Lorraine Augustine was awarded the Aboriginal Order of Canada. Created by the Native Council of Canada, a predecessor to CAP, this award was meant to recognize and honour people whose achievements and efforts advanced the rights of Indigenous People, and whose attributes would serve as role models for future generations of Indigenous People.
